Summary:
"Every Tactacam camera requires its own individual paid data plan subscription. Multiple cameras cannot share a single plan subscription. By default, all subsequent DEFEND cameras activated on your account will automatically be assigned to the same plan type (e.g., Starter, Pro, or Premium) and billing cycle (Monthly or Yearly) as your first activated camera, unless you explicitly purchase a mix of monthly and yearly subscriptions via the Account Web Portal."
Single Plan for Multiple Cameras:
- All Defend cameras registered under the same account will utilize the data plan selected for the very first camera you activated.
- Exception: If you have specifically purchased both a monthly and a yearly subscription through the Account Web Portal, these may be managed separately.
Note: If emails are the same on both reveal and defend accounts, billing dates will sync. Any updates made to your payment method will reflect on both your reveal and defend accounts.
Starter Plan Features:
- Overage Protection (Optional): If you choose a Starter data plan (monthly or yearly), you have the option to enable Overage Protection. This feature charges an additional $5 USD for each block of 250 photos exceeding your plan's monthly limit. You can choose whether or not to activate this.
- Photo Pooling: The Starter plan employs photo pooling. This means the total number of photos included in your Starter plan is shared across all active Defend cameras on your account.
- Example: With three cameras on a Starter plan that includes 250 photos per camera, your account will have a total pool of 750 photos available each month.
To enable or disable Overage Protection follow the steps below:
- Tap the three lines in the upper left-hand corner of the Defend app
- Tap Account
- On the account page, tap on Plan
- On the plan page, there will be listed Overage Protection, with a toggle to enable or disable the feature
You will be alerted when turning Overage Protection on and off.

Important for Existing REVEAL Users:
- When you purchase a data plan for your Defend camera, the billing cycle and payment date will automatically synchronize with your existing REVEAL account.
To align these billing cycles, you may encounter a prorated charge for the initial period of your Defend data plan.
