Understanding REVEAL Cellular Data Plans and Xtra Add-Ons
This article provides an overview of the cellular data plans, photo pooling rules, and optional Xtra add-on features available for your Tactacam REVEAL cellular trail cameras.

- A compatible Tactacam REVEAL cellular trail camera ready for activation.
REVEAL Data Plan Comparison
Tactacam offers three tiers of cellular data plans available on either a monthly or yearly billing cycle.

Plan Assignment and Account Rules
To ensure your cameras transmit smoothly, review these core billing and configuration rules:
- Follow the Leader Billing: By default, all subsequent cameras added to your account automatically adopt the billing cycle (Monthly vs. Yearly) of the very first camera you registered.
- Mixing Plan Cycles: If you want to mix monthly and yearly plans on a single account, you must purchase both plan types directly through the web-based Account Portal rather than the mobile app.

Photo Pooling: Photo allowances for the Starter and Intermediate plans are shared across all cameras on your account utilizing that same plan tier.
- Starter Plan Example: 3 cameras on this plan provide a combined pool of 750 total photos.
- Intermediate Plan Example: 3 cameras on this plan provide a combined pool of 1,500 total photos.
- Overage Protection: Only available for the Starter and Intermediate plans. When enabled, the system automatically bills $5 USD for an additional 250 pictures once your monthly pool limit is reached.
Xtra Subscription Add-On
The Xtra Add-On is a limited-time subscription tier that provides unlimited High-Definition (HD) photos, on-demand photo requests, and enhanced mapping features. Pricing scales based on the total number of cameras linked to your account:
- 1 Camera: $4 USD / month
- 2 Cameras: $7 USD / month
- 3+ Cameras: $9 USD / month
Troubleshooting & Account Support
If your camera stops sending pictures or you encounter billing errors, verify the following:
- Account Status: Log into the REVEAL app to check if your data limit has been reached or if a payment method has expired.
- Camera LED Indicators: A red flashing signal light typically indicates a connection issue, whereas a solid green light confirms successful data transmission to your plan pool.
