Summary:
The Tactacam Reveal Wind Sensor is compatible with Reveal 3.0 and newer cameras. To pair them, power on your activated camera and switch it to setup mode (or turn on the LCD screen for Pro models). Install 3 AA batteries into the bottom compartment of the Wind Sensor. In the Reveal app, select "ACTIVATE A NEW DEVICE," scan the sensor's QR code, and follow the prompts to connect and calibrate the device wirelessly. When mounting in the field, use the top-level indicator to ensure it sits level to the ground, and do not use magnetic mounts as they will disrupt the internal compass.
How to Connect
- Before activating the Wind Sensor, ensure the Reveal camera you plan to pair with it is powered on and activated.
- Insert 3 AA batteries into the battery compartment by opening the door that covers the bottom of the Wind Sensor.
- Turn the camera to setup mode. (Note: the camera must be in setup mode in order to pair your Wind Sensor and your camera. Pro models- turn on the LCD screen)
- Use the Reveal app to expand the navigation menu in the top left corner, and select "Activate A New Device".
- Scan the QR code on your Wind Sensor using the app & select which camera model you will be pairing with your Wind Sensor. Compatible with REVEAL 3.0 and newer models.
- Connect your camera to the Reveal app following the steps in the app.
- Follow the instructions in the Reveal app to connect your wind sensor and camera via wireless connectivity.
- Once the Wind Sensor is connected, the Reveal app will walk you through how to calibrate your Wind Sensor.
- The Reveal app will give you confirmation when your Wind Sensor is ready to be put in the field.
Note: When mounting your Wind Sensor in the field, do NOT use magnetic mounts, as they will affect the internal compass of the Wind Sensor.
Note: Use the level indicator on the top of the Wind Sensor to ensure the Wind Sensor is level to the ground.
