Summary:
Once you have your REVEAL account set up, the app downloaded, and purchased your data plan, you're ready to activate your new REVEAL camera! This process links your camera to your account and activates its cellular data plan.
Follow these instructions to activate your REVEAL camera through the mobile app:
Note: Before activating your camera, make sure to purchase a data plan through the web portal at account.revealcellcam.com.
- Log In to the REVEAL App:
- Open the REVEAL App on your smartphone or tablet.
- Log in using your REVEAL account email and password.
- Access the Menu:
- Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines, sometimes called a "hamburger" menu) located in the upper left corner of the screen.
- Select "Add a Camera":
- From the menu options, select "+ Add a Camera".
- Choose Plan:
- Follow the on-screen prompts to select the cellular data plan you wish to subscribe to for this camera.
- Scan QR Code:
- The app will provide prompts to prepare for scanning.
- Allow access to your phone's camera when requested by the app.
- Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code that is typically located inside the door of your REVEAL camera.
- Then, select the model of your camera (e.g., Ultra, REVEAL 3.0 Pro, REVEAL 3.0).
- The app will prompt you to install the antenna, insert the batteries, and insert the SD card.
- Insert SIM Card (If Not Pre-Installed):
- Follow any prompts from the app regarding the SIM card.
- If your SIM card was not pre-installed, carefully insert your SIM card into the camera's SIM card slot as directed by the app.
- Complete Network Selection:
- The app will guide you through the network selection process. If your camera supports multiple carriers (Multi-Carrier SIM), you will choose your preferred network (e.g., AT&T or Verizon) at this stage. Follow all in-app prompts.
- Name Your Camera & Assign Location:
- Finally, you will be prompted to give your camera a unique name (e.g., "Back Forty Cam," "Food Plot South") and assign its physical location. This helps you organize multiple cameras in your app.
Once these steps are completed, your REVEAL camera will be activated and begin its initial check-in.
