Summary:
If your REVEAL X camera is experiencing internal condensation, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
1. DIY Drying Method (Recommended First Step):
This method aims to thoroughly dry out the camera and ensure all seals are clean and secure.
-
What to do:
- Power off your REVEAL X camera.
- Carefully remove the SD card, SIM card, battery tray, and external antennas.
- Place the camera in a dry location with good air circulation, such as a windowsill that receives sunlight (but not direct, intense sunlight that could overheat the camera), or near a gentle fan. Avoid using direct heat sources like hair dryers, which can cause damage.
- Allow the camera to dry out completely. This may take 24-48 hours or longer, depending on the level of moisture.
- Once thoroughly dry, inspect the rubber seals around the battery compartment and other openings. Ensure they are clean and free of dirt, debris, or damage. Gently wipe them if needed.
- Re-insert the SD card, SIM card, and battery tray. Make sure they are correctly seated.
- If you use an external antenna, ensure it is tightly screwed into its port after re-inserting the internal components.
- Power on your camera and check if the condensation is gone.
2. If DIY Method Does Not Resolve the Issue:
If the condensation persists after performing the DIY drying method, or if you suspect internal damage, email our support team at support@tactacam.com.
Important Considerations:
- External condensation often occurs in spring and fall due to temperature changes in the morning and evening. This can be easily managed with products like Rain-X Anti-Fog Wipes or "Cat Crap" Anti-Fog Balm.
- Always ensure all camera ports, battery doors, and seals are completely closed and secure when deploying your camera outdoors.
