Summary:
The DEFEND app lets you manage your cameras and view photos all in one place. After logging in (including REVEAL users), you’ll see a home screen with a timeline of images from your cameras.
You can add cameras, view saved media, organize cameras by site, and manage shared content from the menu. The event log helps you filter activity by day, camera, tag, or time. Each camera also has its own page where you can adjust settings like motion detection and manage your subscription.
In the account section, you can update your info, manage notifications, view your plan, and access support.. For assistance, users can contact support at support@tactacam.com.
Note for Existing REVEAL Users: If you already have an active REVEAL account, you can use the same TactaID to log in to the DEFEND app for a seamless experience!
Key Screens and Features:
Login Screen: This is the first screen you'll see when opening the app. Here, you can:
- Log in to your existing DEFEND account.
- Create a new DEFEND account.
- Connect directly to your camera's Wi-Fi network without logging in (for initial setup or direct access).
Home Screen: Located at the bottom of the screen, indicated by the home icon. This screen displays a chronological feed of photos captured by your connected cameras.

Menu: Access the main menu by tapping the three horizontal lines (top left corner). The menu provides access to the following options:
- +Add a Camera: Initiate the process of adding a new DEFEND camera to your account. If you haven't added a camera yet, you'll also see a prominent "Add Your First Camera" option on the Home screen.
- Home: Returns you to the main photo feed.
- Vault: Access your saved or favorited media.
- Sharing: Manage and view shared media.
- Site Management: Organize your cameras by creating and managing different sites or locations.
- Help: Access support resources, FAQs, and contact information.
- Log Out: Sign out of your DEFEND app account.
- Navigate to the Account screen.
- In-App Chat: Chat directly with our customer service team without ever leaving the app.
- How to start a chat: Tap the new chat icon to begin a conversation with a support agent.
- Shop: Simply tap the new Shop tab in the main navigation menu to start browsing our full catalog.
Event Log: Located at the bottom of the screen, indicated by the clock icon. This section provides a detailed history of events captured by your cameras. You can filter the event log by day to easily find specific events.

Filters: Found in the top right corner of the Event Log screen (indicated by the filter icon). This feature allows you to sort and view events based on specific criteria:
- Camera: View events from selected cameras.
- Tag: Filter events by assigned tags (e.g., Vehicle, Human).
- Time: Display events that occurred within a specified time range.

3 Dots (Media Options): When viewing individual photos or videos, tapping the three vertical dots (usually in the top right or bottom right corner) will reveal a menu with the following actions:
- Download: Save the media file to your device.
- Share: Share the media through various apps on your phone.
- HD Photo/Video Request: Request a higher-resolution version of the captured media (if available based on your plan).
- Add Tag: Assign a tag to the event for better organization and filtering.
- Delete: Remove the media file from your account.
- How to find GPS coordinates: From the main screen, select the Camera you wish to view. Tap See Device Information. Your camera's Coordinates will be listed on this screen.

Account Page: Typically accessed within the main menu. This page allows you to manage your overall account:
- Change Your Personal Information and Password: Update your profile details and security credentials.
- Turn Your Notifications On/Off: Manage push notifications from the app.
- View Your Plan Usage and Information: See details about your current data plan, usage statistics, and billing information.
- Change Your Payment Method: Update your payment details for your subscription.
- Turn PLUS On/Off: Manage the Plus Plan add-on for your account.
- Connect to Your Camera's WIFI: Access the Wi-Fi connection settings for direct camera access.
- Access Help Videos, FAQs, and Contact Information: Find support resources and ways to get in touch with customer support.
- Follow Us on Social Media: Links to the official DEFEND social media channels.
- Your Rewards Status: View any available rewards or loyalty program information.
