Condensation/Moisture inside Lens
Are you experiencing fog on the outside of your lens or even on the inside?
The REVEAL cameras are rated IP66 waterproof, which means it is tested waterproof against
strong water jets.
External condensation is commonly seen in the spring and fall when temperatures shift during
the morning and night. You will see that the lens will clear up on its own within a couple of
hours. Common symptoms include foggy/blurry photos.
This can be easily resolved by using these products:
Internal lens condensation can take place in two ways.
1.) There is dirt or debris on the seal that would allow small amounts of moisture into the
2.) Your antenna is not placed snugly on the top of your camera.
If you have experienced this pull the sd card out and let the camera sit for 3-4 days open and if
possible in an area where there is circulating air (a fan or vent). You can also put it in a sealed
container with rice for 24 hrs to draw out the moisture. Clean the seal well and tighten your
antenna and you'll be ready to go again.
If this at-home solution does not resolve your issue, we can get the camera in for our RMA
Camera Technicians to inspect. If they determine the camera damage is covered under
warranty, there will be no charge associated with your repair/replacement. If the RMA team decides that the water damage is caused by environmental issues it will not be covered under warranty, and Repair will cost 20.99.
