If you do not have an Active Subscription you can locate the firmware for your Reveal camera by connecting to the Reveal WiFi using the app. You do NOT need to create an account or log in. If you are logged into the app, you will need to log out of it:
- Turn the camera to SETUP. The WIFI indicator light should be blinking blue
- NOTE: If your WIFI indicator light does not turn on, you have a bad SD card. Please change it and try again.
- Open your REVEAL app and click "Connect to REVEAL WiFi without an account."
- Allow all of the permissions
- If you deny any permissions, you must go into your app's phone settings and enable/allow all permissions.
- Click "Connect to REVEAL"
- Once connected, your Reveal WiFi indicator light will be solid blue, and you will be able to see the firmware version listed in the app.

Hello, when I wifi connect to my reveal x's to check their firmware it shows "0" for the "FW Version" would there happen to be something I can do to fix this? I know that I can check them through the app as well but I believe I would have to activate and run each of my cameras to do so which I don't want to do at this time. Also, are all of the "current firmwares" that you have listed for the Reveal X equal to one another or should the most recent (B308?) be applied if I have the opportunity to do so?
Thanks!
Justin
I have the same question. My camera has stopped sending pictures to the app. I worked fine from October '21 to March '22. I brought it home from the hunting camp to replace batteries. New batteries in and now it can't find cell signal at my house. I drove around town to find a good AT&T signal then the camera worked. Took it back to the hunting camp to the exact same tree and no signal. We have 5 other Reveal X cameras all over our hunting land (with AT&T) and they work. Any help would be appreciated. I already sent the camera to Tactacam but they sent it back and never told me what they did, what they found, or anything. Frustrated!
Thanks,
Jeremy
how do I download bbo9 firmware to my sd card on my computer?
Hi Emily, To find the firmware version in my app on my phone, when I get to the camera details, below settings, there is now "Camera Information", and that is where I find the firmware edition. I have app edition 2.5.4 on an iPhone 13 mini. There are some other differences in that screen now also. Possibly needs an update? Take care,
