    Hi Emily. I have the Gen 1 cameras and I see the option to "Connect to Reveal X/SK WiFi. When I click that I get the error message "Connection Failed - We could not find or connect to a Tactacam Reveal X or SK camera." Are Gen 1 cameras not SK?

    Hi Bob, thanks for reaching out! The Gen 1 Reveals do not have WIFI capabilities so that is why you are no able to connect. The Reveal X and SK cameras are the 2021 models that come equipped with that feature.

    my app has one of my reveal gen 1 cameras with red indicator.  it says "1 day since check in."  other than driving 2 hours, how do i ping the camera? or trigger a check in?

    Hi Emily - Bought a Gen X camera and just activated it and the test pic came back with the wrong date and time. I imagine that I need to connect to the cameras WiFi.  So I connected to the Camera WiFi and clicked the Connect to Reveal X/SK WiFi. All that is happening is I'm getting the rotating sunflower (waiting to connect). It's been several minutes and still no connection. Not sure where to go from here. Do I need to be in setup mode or regular mode?

     

    update.  Got that to work.

    Linden boyd It looks like your cameras are checking in and sending pictures. The one that hasn't checked in most recently is signal related. It is not uncommon for a camera to miss a check in for a day or two (sometimes mine can go even longer if they're in very remote areas) and that's nothing to be too alarmed about, especially if they are still sending pictures. Verizon has been having issues over the past few weeks so that can also impact things with the camera communicating with the server.

    Now that I was able to connect to the WiFi on the camera I thought that I would be able to set the date and time. All the pics being taken say January 3,2021 and the time is wrong. How do you set the correct date and time? I need this to be accurate or it’s of no use for tracking and I’ll have to return it.

    Thank you for reaching out! Usually the camera will sync up with the server and report the correct date and time but if it doesn't do this correctly, you can do a simple hard reset on the camera. 

    To do this you will need a paperclip so bring one with you! 

    1. Put the camera in Setup mode

    2. Press the Reset button on the bottom of the camera (inside the door) 

    3. Hold for 10 seconds, then release

    4. Camera will power off and reboot. 

    5. Allow enough time for the camera to check in with the server and then make sure pictures are coming through with the correct date and time.

    I recently activated my tactacam subscription and set up my Reveal X camera. I’m not seeing “send type” as one of my options when configuring my settings. Is there anything i need to do for send type to be shown

    Thanks for reaching out! If you change your "Settings check" from instant to daily, you will see the Send Type option. Please note: the send type setting does not appear at all when you are connected to the camera's WIFI. You will access this setting in the app by clicking the camera icon, then select your camera, click the green wrench to the right and access settings from there.

    I have just bought 2 Tactacam Reveal X cameras and both of them will not connect to the reveal X/SK Wifi option. Both can connect to my phone through Wifi but when it comes to clicking on the preview option both will not connect.

    Hey! My camera hasn’t checked in in 6 days, and I don’t have an option under my settings menu in the app for the Check in Picture. How do I get that option?
