Camera Sharing Feature FAQ

What is it?

• The ability to share your cameras with other Reveal Users without sharing your account information.
• Available on app versions 2.5.0 or higher

Is there an extra cost?

• No, this is a free feature of the app

How do you share a camera?

1. To Share a camera, select the new Camera Share icon in the upper-right corner of the app from the home screen.
2. Tap Share a Camera at the bottom of the screen
3. Enter the email address of a Reveal User (must be a Reveal user’s registered email)
4. Select the camera(s) you would like to share
5. Tap Save

How do I know if someone has shared a camera with me?

1. Select the Camera icon in the upper-right corner
2. If an invitation to a new camera(s) has been sent to you,  a red dot indicator will appear beside the Shared column.

How do I accept a Shared camera(s) invite?

1. Go to the camera icon in the upper right corner and select Shared 
2. Tap the green check mark to accept the camera

How do I Decline a camera(s) invite if I don’t want access?

1. Go to the camera icon in the upper right corner
2. Hit Shared
3. Hit the Red X
4. Decline Invitation

Can I regain access as a guest to cameras shared with me that I declined?

• Yes, but you will have to notify the host to send you another invitation.

How do I view photos from a camera feed shared with me?

1. Select the Camera icon
2. Go to the Share column
3. Select the host’s camera you wish to see photos from

Do I get notifications of new pictures on shared cameras?

• No, you will not get notifications of new photos on a shared camera. You will need to go to each camera to see new activity.

Can I delete photos from cameras shared with me?

• No, you cannot delete photos from another’s camera feed that’s shared with you.

Can I make a gallery of shared photos?

• No, you cannot make a gallery from shared camera photos, but you can download them to your phone

How do I stop sharing a camera feed with another user?

1. Click the Camera Share icon
2. Tap the toggle switch from ON (green) to the OFF position (black)

Can I reshare after revoking access?

1. Yes, just tap the toggle switch back ON, and it will show a Pending status (light orange).

How do I turn off access to a camera feed that was shared with me? 

1. Click the camera icon and hit shared
2. Click any camera 
3. Then hit the trashcan in the upper right corner
4. Hit remove host to delete the user’s email and remove all cameras.

Can I regain access as a guest to cameras shared with me that I removed?

• Yes, but you will have to notify the host to send you another invitation.

How do I delete a guest that I shared cameras with?

1. Click on the Camera Share Icon (the one to the far left)
2. Tap Delete Guests in the upper right 
3. Individually check the box next to guests you’d like to remove, or Select All at the top to remove all guests
4. Tap Delete Guests at the bottom of the screen
5. Confirm the removing of the Guest

Can I re-add a guest back after I previously deleted them? 

• Yes you can add them back just like originally added and they will have to accept the invite again.
